What does a car oil change service include?

How do we determine the right oil for your car?

There is no single oil that suits all cars. What works for a modern, small-displacement engine may not work for a larger engine or a car with high mileage. Therefore, we ask and test before making a decision.

Car type, model, and engine

The type, model, year of manufacture, and engine size all affect the oil specifications and viscosity grade. Two cars of the same model may differ if they have different engines.

Manufacturer's recommendation

The basis is the specification set by your car's manufacturer. This is the reference we adhere to, and we do not deviate from it without a clear reason that we will explain to you.

Operating conditions and oil condition

Driving in heat and dust, frequent short trips, and overloading all increase the strain on the oil. Add to that the condition of the oil and the maintenance history, if available.

Synthetic, semi-synthetic, or mineral oil?

All three types are available. The difference between them lies in their installation and durability under operating conditions, and the most suitable one depends on your car's specific needs—not that any one type is always "best." We'll explain which type suits your car and why before you buy.

synthetic oil

It is manufactured entirely in the factory, and its installation is more standardized. It is typically used with engines for which the manufacturer specifies this requirement.

semi-synthetic oil

A mixture of synthetic and metallic, a middle option that suits many cars depending on their specifications.

mineral oil

Extracted from crude oil with less processing, it is still suitable for certain engines and specifications.

When does your car need an oil check or change?

We do not provide a fixed mileage figure, as the timing varies depending on the manufacturer's recommendations, the type of vehicle and engine, the type of oil, operating conditions, maintenance history, and the condition of the oil itself. We have explained this in more detail in [the relevant section]. How often should you change the oil?. The following signs may warrant examination:

oil lamp

The oil warning light on the dashboard may indicate a problem. We shouldn't assume anything before checking.

Low oil level

If the level is lower than usual when measured, it is advisable to find out the reason before simply adding more.

Change in oil condition

Very dark or thick oil, or oil with impurities when measured, may require further examination.

Oil leak

An oil stain under the car or in the parked area may warrant inspection. A leak is a separate issue from the replacement, and may fall under the scope of... Car engine repair.

smell of burning oil

A burning smell during operation or after shutdown may warrant inspection.

Unusual engine noise

Sounds that were not present before may warrant investigation, especially if maintenance has been delayed.

Oil filter: Should it be changed every time?

The oil filter traps impurities that circulate with the oil, and over time its ability to do so decreases.

However, it is not replaced automatically with every service. We determine the replacement based on the condition of the filter, the service requirements, and your vehicle's needs, and we inform you of this before the replacement.

If the filter needs replacing, we will explain why. If not, we will not replace it.
